Horses DR

I have a question, how come you think a horse deserves a DR of 4? I'm not saying I disagree, rather I don't know what it should be.

I think that is the default in OGL. Personally I'm not sure a horse deserves a DR at all, or maybe 1 or 2 points, but those animals are based on a fairly simple formula from the OGL standard. It's up to you if you want to customize them further (as I usually did myself for my own campaign)... in other words those are a demonstration of how to convert OGL animals (or monsters) to codex rules. I made a few modifications to things that seemed extremely off, but I didn't really try to tackle biology, I still have my hands full with weapons and armor.

Down the road a little I'm going to tweak those animals a bit more and add 10 or 20 more of them and some traditional monsters like orcs and ogres.

Ya, right now I'm thinking horse dr should be somewhere between 4 and 0. I mean a horse is less likely to be hurt (or not as badly) by being wacked with a club than a person. But I don't see a horse surving a spear thrust very well.

yeah that is more a function of hit points, DR is really more like how tough their hide is and how thick their bones are... which is probably a bit more formidable than human skin but not that much.
