Snap shot

Snap shot: you may immediately attack as an AoO with a missile weapon if your opponent expends more than 1 MP for movement within your 1st range increment.

What do you think?

Hrm . . . OK. Perhaps with a penalty for lack of aiming?

Yeah that is a good point, that's how it works with guns in most modern combat systems ...

How precisely to handle the penalty though I'm not sure. A strait -2 or something?

In this case it should be a normal combat option, not a feat.

another good point... I was thinking the ability to 'recognize the moment' may require some training but maybe not. Maybe a combat option makes more sense, anyone can snap off a shot.

Maybe this calls for a combat option, and an MF to make it efficient. Like anyone can do a snap shot but with the training you can do it with a realistic chance of hitting something.

Ya, just a combat option with no penalty, but a mf that gives a bonus dice whenever the opportunity arrises.

No penalty? Don't you think it's harder to hit something with a snap-shot ?

Perhaps it's enough of a penalty to exclude the range category bonus for short range.

Maybe the ability to recognize the opportunity to shoot could be associated with the Combat Reflexes Feat? Maybe that would be a pre-req for the MF.

Combat Option: With no range bonus for short range and an additional -2.

MF: You get your range bonus back, but not the -2.

2nd MF: You can do it out to 2 range bands, no penalty, Advanced MF called Instinctive Archery.

I like it... I'd take the -2 off the first MF as well though.

What does everybody else think?
