If you want to remove the primary P requirement, and just require P then it can be in but you won't see the requirement for specialized piercing swords you may have imagined when you built the mf.

I'll leave that as an option for the DM, I'm a big believer in Rule 0. I could see arguments for both sides, but right now it seems to me that any sword decent at thrusting could do this... though obviously a rapier would be more effective at it than a Katana.

I think it's adustable at the discretion of the DM for a given campaign.

Some of these look do-able. Start watching at 3:00 for armoured stuff.

It's funny you posted this, I just got in touch with a genuine JSA expert, I think he'll be able to help me put in some new stuff, he knows vastly more than I do about JSA and knows about several specific schools from the 16th Century and earlier. Stay tuned.

Sounds great, I really want to finish the Japanese game I've been working on and off for a while.

I sent the guy a printed copy of the core rules book, we are supposed to talk about it this weekend. He's a pretty busy guy so it will likely move slowly, but I think now that he has seen the book it has caught his interest. Will keep you posted. I have high hopes this guy is a high ranked JSA instructor, he knows all about the pre Meiji fencing schools and their techniques. And we know each other through HEMA circles so we've got mutual respect, he judged a tournament I was in earlier this year and he is also a researcher and real interested in the Codex Baltic history book I wrote.

On top of everything else he's one of the top researchers in the world right now on early Spanish fencing so I might get some stuff on that too. He's been translating a couple of the "Montante" books which haven't been published yet but have already made some shockwaves in the HEMA community.

I'll release that when I have his permission, hopefully soon. Don't want to jump the gun.

He's not some kind of superstart martial artist or anything but he is a recognized scholar and instructor.
