Feat packages by fencing types
Each type can be gained by achieving Knowledge (4) in the specific discipline, or knowledge (6) for advanced feats (in italic). Thereafter, 4 (or 6) skill points can be expended per level in learning the relevant martial art.
The simple fencing is the street level fencing that most fighters, including burghers and peasants, can eventually learn if they gain enough combat experience. The Kunst Des Fechten is the ‘secret’ fencing (literally ‘art of fencing’) known to artisans and patricians, as well as some knights and aristocrats, and even members of the clergy. Ringen is wrestling and grappling, practiced by nearly everyone at least at the basic level, well known to peasants, and studied by all serious fighters at the advanced levels. Dueling fencing is the art taught to courtiers and aristocrats in exclusive fencing salons, specialized for the dueling square and or coping with the back alley ambush. Battlefield fencing is the fighting art learned by soldiers on the battlefields. Chivalric fencing are the special fighting techniques known exclusively to knights and other mounted warriors.
