pg 44, why does brigandine protect better than plate armor?

pg 38, why does a gambeson have more hit points than mail?

Textile armor is more ablative; it has a very low DR so it can be damaged easily but it can also take a lot of damage. Mail has a high DR but once mail is compromised it's fairly quickly ruined.

I'll have to check on the Brigandine and get back to you.

I don't see how, one link getting destroyed doesn't damage the others. plate suffers more from damage than mail, in that stress travels throughout the plate.

That is why I made the DR high. But once significant damage is done (several links broken) the mail will not hold together any more. Textile can be pretty ripped up and still be relatively functional.

Anyway it's kind of a trivial point. You can change it how you like in your house rules.

pg 39 lorica segmentata

Okegawa do is not lorica segmentata at all, Okegawa do means "tubsided" and is riveted together bands, making a solid cuirass. It should be treated just like a normal plate cuirasse except with less hit points due to the construction method.
